Away from the centre, the area opens up quickly. What Happens in Your First Lesson in Kingston

1.We collect you
Your instructor picks you up from your door anywhere in KT1 or KT2, or from a meeting point that suits you — Kingston railway station is a common one. The lesson clock starts when you get in the car, not when we set off.
2.Eyesight check and paperwork
A quick number-plate read at 20 metres, the same check the examiner does on test day, and we take a look at your provisional licence. Two minutes, once, on your first lesson only.
3.The cockpit drill
We drive to The Canbury and Norbiton streets and go through the controls with the engine off — seat, mirrors, pedals, gears and steering. You will not be asked to move the car until you know what everything does.
4.Your first drive
