The streets are regular and reasonably wide, but they are lined with resident parking on both sides, and the whole area is wrapped by fast one-way traffic on Vauxhall Bridge Road and the Embankment. It is precise driving rather than heavy driving.
The grid layout is a genuine advantage for beginners. Right angles, predictable junctions and light through-traffic on the interior streets mean you can practise junction routine dozens of times in an hour without the distraction of buses and cyclists. We use that early, then take the main roads once the routine is automatic.

What Happens in Your First Lesson in Pimlico

1.We collect you
