Worple Road and the A238
The route west towards Raynes Park, with a long run of signalled junctions and side turnings. Good for sustained concentration and for practising junction approaches in flowing traffic.
Wimbledon Village and the Common roads

The A219 towards Morden

What Happens in Your First Lesson in Wimbledon
Nervous about the first one? Here is exactly how it goes, start to finish.
1.We meet you
Your instructor meets you at an agreed meeting point in SW19 or SW20 — Wimbledon station (Underground, rail and tram) is a common one. The lesson clock starts when you get in the car.
2.Eyesight check and paperwork
A quick number-plate read at 20 metres, the same check the examiner does on test day, and we take a look at your provisional licence. Two minutes, once, on your first lesson only.
3.The cockpit drill
We drive to The A219 towards Morden and go through the controls with the engine off — seat, mirrors, pedals, gears and steering. You will not be asked to move the car until you know what everything does.
4.Your first drive
Moving off, stopping, and steering on a quiet road with dual controls on your side of the car. Most people drive within the first half hour of their first lesson, and nobody is thrown into traffic on day one.
5.Debrief and plan

Wimbledon sits in the London Borough of Merton, at the south western edge of inner London, and is known worldwide for the tennis championships held at the All England Club each summer.
